What is counselling supervision
Counselling supervision is an important component in the development of a practitioner. It allows the counsellor to develop a sense of their professional identity and to examine their own beliefs and attitude regarding clients and therapy. The counsellors can reflect on their own works and gain an insight into their performance by discussing counselling sessions with a supervisor and receiving feedbacks. Counselling supervision services provide an opportunity to learn and develop new skills and finding better ways to help clients.
A counsellor might get overwhelmed due to the sensitive issues of many clients. A supervisor can take control of the situation before it turns out to be problematic. There are high rates of burnout and distress among mental health professionals due to high demands and stress at work. Counselling supervision services help those professionals to avoid such issues and take care of their own health.
